CTRL Module + Helmholtz Pitch Follower – Initial Tests

We’re developing a SNAC-based pitch follower device for use within Ableton Live along side our high-resolution CV + gate module, CTRL. We’ve been having a lot of fun testing both devices in tandem.

Here’s a video of Helmholtz tracking an audio input from an eight-string guitar and then feeding that data out via CTRL as high-resolution control voltage to the Moog Minitaur and Make Noise DPO.

Here’s a video from John Harding (creator of CTRL) using Helmholtz inside of Ableton Live along side CTRL to drive his modular synthesizer rig.

Hello, tested on Live 10.0.3b5 beta (Max 8 preview), and it works fine. Pretty cool modulator.

Put the libfftw3f-3.dll in the same folder as ‘Max.exe”, which here on Windows was:

    C:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 10 Beta\Resources\Max\

    or:

    C:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 10 Suite\Resources\Max\

Thanks for testing! Putting the .dll in the same location as the patcher should also work just fine. Can you tell us a little bit about how you used the device?
