Description

Any audio. Tiny pieces. Infinite textures.
Stream Pro is a complete granular synthesis platform: evolving textures, playable polyphonic instruments, and immersive 3D spatial audio — all in one plugin. Granular synthesis breaks audio into grains of 1–100 ms and reassembles them: time-stretch without changing pitch, pitch-shift without changing time, and turn any recording into something entirely new.
Formerly XStream. Same plugin, new name. Your .xstream presets, settings, and licenses carry over unchanged.

Two Modes, Infinite Possibilities
Single Mode — Turn Any Sound into Evolving Textures
- Record, Overdub, and Replace capture modes
- Independent pitch and time control
- Bipolar speed & direction (−2x to +2x) with freeze
- One-tap buffer undo — recording over a take is no longer fatal
- Session persistence: your buffer and settings restore automatically
Multi Mode — Play Your Samples Like an Instrument
- Full polyphonic MIDI tracking — up to 8 voices
- Per-voice ADSR envelopes with a draggable visual editor
- Colored voice markers show every playhead at a glance
- Genuinely stochastic per-grain jitter
- Efficient Stroma engine keeps polyphony light on CPU
3D Spatial Granular Synthesis
Powered by Steam Audio’s binaural HRTF processing, the Spatializer places each voice in true 3D space for headphone listening — or scatters grains across the stereo field in classic ping-pong style.
- Binaural HRTF processing — drag voice nodes on the XY pad; in Multi mode, every note occupies its own position in the soundstage.
- Ping-pong grain distribution — successive grains alternate hard-left and hard-right, with a pulse rate that tracks grain size.
- BOIDS flocking — voice nodes cluster, burst apart, and regather in ever-changing spatial patterns, no manual animation required.
- Motion & DAW automation — record and loop per-voice movement paths, and automate spatial position and the binaural-to-ping-pong blend from your DAW.
Movement Without Automation Lanes
Modulation Matrix
- Four LFOs, seven shapes — from sine to sample-&-hold
- Free-run 0.01–20 Hz, or tempo-synced from 4 bars to 1/16T
- Sixteen routing slots; stack LFOs or fan one out to many destinations
- Offset design — your knob stays home; Range mode sweeps a parameter between two exact points
Texturizer Effects
- Soft saturation for warmth and grit
- Per-voice Moog-style lowpass/bandpass filter
- Stereo delay with time, feedback, and mix
- Swap whether space or effects comes first in the chain
Expressive from the First Note
- Fully MPE-capable — profiles for Seaboard, GeoShred, and Sensel controllers, with adjustable pitch-bend range, pressure, and velocity sensitivity.
- Everything is mappable — the MIDI editor auto-discovers every parameter; right-click any control for instant MIDI Learn. Sustain pedal and mod wheel ship pre-mapped to granular defaults.
- Presets that travel — a single .xstream file captures everything: parameters, envelopes, spatial state, MIDI maps — with documented workflows for sharing sounds between machines.
Free Companion Apps
Run them full-screen on a second display and connect over virtual MIDI.
- Parameter Space — an octagonal control surface where each voice is a draggable polygon: global, per-voice, and hybrid modes, synced with the plugin in real time.
- Spectral Space — your audio as a cloud of segments clustered by timbre. Hover to audition, click to jump, drag to scrub — and record evolving trajectories through it.
- Leap Motion Controller — hands-in-the-air control of Stream Pro parameters.
